Travel Trends: Baby Boomers Want Adventure Travel

With a staggering 8,000 boomers joining the ranks of the 65 and older crowd every day one would think that the popularity of adventure travel would drop off.  Yet, statistics show that today’s retirees are redefining the “golden years”; dismissing the sun and sand vacations of their parent’s generation for the high-flying adventures normally reserved for younger travelers.
“We’ve been seeing a trend with our mature travelers” says Shin Hwang, Business Development Manager at Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa. “The mind set seems to be that 60 is the new 30 and travelers in this age group want the total experience.”
“The emergence of the combination getaway (fusing together an extreme adventure with a classic leisure interest) seems to be a popular one” continues Hwang.  “So whether you’re looking for a ski vacation that offers some exciting casino action or a shopping vacation that gets your heart pumping with a day of sky diving, Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa provides plenty of opportunities to let yourself go and explore all that the region has to offer.”
